Show and Tell

Show and Tell

Kelli is having a Show & Tell so I thought I would join in this Friday.

~

This is my collection of Collie Dogs.

~

Gentleman Farmer gifted me with this framed print of "In Disgrace" featuring a beautiful collie and a little blond girl, looking like my two little daughters. (He knows my love for little blond girls and collie dogs.)

~

~

Then I started collecting antique glass collie figurines.

~

~

This is an old collie picture that was my husband's Grandmother's.

~

I have had three real collie dogs in my life; Mr. Beans was the first collie on my Grandparents farm where I grew up. Then when I was married, we had Brandy, a beautiful Tri-color collie. And the last dog we had was sweet little Gypsy. She was not full collie, but was just as sweet, intelligent and loyal.

(See her photo at the bottom of my blog.)

~

Thanks, Kelli, for hosting this show and tell.

(In honor of my three faithful companions.)

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

Dear Lady Farmer Parables,

What a wonderful collection of collie dogs! And how you must have been blessed with your three real pups. I really enjoyed seeing your post. I have a collection of schnauzer figurines.

I truly enjoy having a dog around. Our last dog (Scotty) was from the animal orphanage and as we were told by many that knew him, you only get one like him once in a lifetime. He was a friend of all. He had lymes Disease early on and suffered with arthritis. He lived to be 13 1/2 years old. Our schnauzer isn't as perfect as Scotty but we just love him to to pieces!

So glad you participated in Show and Tell!

Kindly, ldh

Sweet collection of Collles! They are such spectacular dogs, so smart and elegant. Our first dog was named Brandy, but there was no collie in her. (I like your chicken and rooster pictures, too!)

I so enjoyed seeing your collection of collie dogs, and to have that old antique picture is priceless.
I have always thought that the collie was a very special breed of dog, I guess it was because of seeing and growing up with Lassie!! Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Sue

I am so glad that you decided to share photos of your collie collection. They are all so delightful...collies are beautiful dogs. My very first dog when I was a little girl was a collie named Dixie! This post naturally made me think of her. :-)

Dear Lady Farmer,

Your paintings and collie figurines are so beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing them! I am so glad you had collies of your own too. What would we do without our sweet and loyal dogs?! I collect old poodle figurines, but they are getting harder to find.

I enjoyed reading your previous post! Our God is so amazing!
Love and blessings, Paula

A lovely collection! My cousin and his wife used to own and show collies. I think they still have a couple dogs, but don't show them anymore. They were so beautiful. (Your kitties are very sweet! We have three kitties.)

I love collies; if I could only convince my husband to agree to a pet... I'm pretty sure collies would make my short list! They seem so smart and affectionate. Thanks for sharing!
