Palm Sunday

~
"And when they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them, and bring them to Me. And if anyone says something to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them." Now this took place the what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, " "SAY TO THE DAUGHTER OF ZION, 'BEHOLD YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU, GENTLE, AND MOUNTED ON A DONKEY, EVEN ON A COLT, THE FOAL OF A BEAST OF BURDEN.' " And the disciples went and did just as Jesus had directed them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid on them their garments, on which He sat. And most of the multitude spread their garments in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees, and spreading them in the road. And the multitudes going before Him and those who followed after were crying out, saying,
"Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!"

Hello my dear friend,
I love this picture of Jesus riding on the donkey, and I just stopped and studied the look the artist captured on the face of Jesus and it put me to wondering what was He really thinking as He rode in and saw all of these people worshiping him, knowing full well that in a few days these same people would be crying for Him to be put to death!!! I stand in awe of the love of an Awesome God!!
Thank you for sharing and allowing me to visit and ponder on this beautiful picture and to meditate on His Word on this glorious Palm Sunday. This has been a most inspiring post!
Blessings,
Sue

What a beautiful site you have. I love this picture. It is such a reminder of what we want, and what God wants for us, and what is best for us. The people wanted an earthly redeemer and king, and God wanted an heavenly Redeemer and King.

Thanks for stopping by my site.
Blessings

Hosanna indeed to the HIGHEST! Have a blessed Holy Week!

Re: lace ornaments - they are made by a preprogrammed design fed into the sewing machine. I personally don't do too much, except making sure that the threads aren't broken, bobbin is full, and needle is intact! :)

As we contemplate the joy and the hope that is Our Lord's ministry;

I rejoice in the knowledge that this week is just a wonderful remainder that He is our Saviour!
That He is who He said He IS!

Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!

Thank you for sharing,

blessings,
