Tagged!

I have been tagged by two sweet blogging friends , Mia (Aspiring Homemaker)

and LDH (With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart)

on "My Memories From 2008."

Rules:

1. Fill in you memories of 2008

2. Link my blog to yours

3. Tag others ( sorry, I won't be tagging anyone but please play along if you wish)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.) A good book I read.
I get on little "kicks". The ladies at the library laugh when they see me coming, and then lug out my carton of reserved books. All on the same subject. One subject I was on last year was the Amish. I have been fascinated by these people for years and two summers ago while traveling with my youngest daughter across the U.S. we visited Amish Country. Shortly after our visit, the terrible tragedy of the shooting at the West Nickle Mines School happened. This was the book I read. So sad, but so very thought provoking.
2.) A great film/movie I watched.
There were no good movies out last year. Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite ~ I could watch it every week and look forward to seeing it again the next week. I don't watch it every week but I do watch it two or three times a year. The picture below is my favorite scene. I get all mushy inside and even Gentleman Farmer (yes, he watches it, too!) gets a goofy grin on his face.
3.) A new place visited
Long Island. Not THAT Long Island! This Long Island (in my state of Washington) is a 5 square mile, uninhabited home to a grove of 1,000 year old red cedar. Access to the island is by private boat ( we canoed ). We went in May, and I think we were the only people on the entire island. We canoed over to the southern tip, stashed the boat, and backpacked half-way up the island to a little camping spot along the western beach. It was delightful!
4.) An inspiring verse or quote I read
This book has many - Gen. 1:1 thru Rev. 22:21
~
~
5.) A discovery I made
You can make wonderful new friends when blogging!
~
6.) A new skill I aquired
I am learning the art of stained glass from a dear friend. ( Watch out Tiffany!)
~
7.) A lesson I learned
Never believe anything you hear about a person unless you know it personally to be true.
~
8.) A moment I will always remember
I FORGOT!
Dear Lady Farmer,
I enjoyed reading your lovely post so much, as I do all your posts! I love Pride and Prejudice and my husband (and son) watch it with me too! That is one of my favorite scenes as well!
Long Island looks like a beautiful place! I look forward to seeing some of your stained glass. I know it will be beautiful!
I am so glad to have made friends with you through our blogs. You are such a blessing!
Love, Paula
P.S. I just love all you shared about your laundry room... especially about gentleman farmers "man wall!" You have such a good attitude about it and one day you will have a lovely laundry room in your basement!
What a wonderful tag..and a list of reviews. I also love Pride and Prejudice - and Hubby even watches it also - and I definitely want to check out the Amish Grace book.
I just might consider myself tagged - and join in sometime soon...before I forget 2008! :)
Some wise words here. Number 8 made me laugh out loud!
You are right about movies nowadays. I rarely watch anything made after 1965.
