The Lighthouse

Sometimes, the Gentleman Farmer and I
like to go 'adventuring' to nearby
places that we have not been before.
Saturday, being a bit gray and blustery,
we journeyed to the little islands
Vashon and Maury.

Barn swallows sail above us
as we stroll the walk between cottages.

This odd contrivance, once used to pull boats
on and off the beach, now plays the part of
picnic table.
It still rides the rails that travel down to the shore.

This charming little swing
(which the Gentleman Farmer said he thought he could make me one of)
sat at the bottom of a cliff that was an avalanche
of blackberry blossoms.
A lovely way to ponder the day.

Great photos of your outing! I have been to Vashon Island only once and that was when my hubby was doing a tree job about 20 years ago. I enjoyed walking the beaches and collecting sand dollars!
Hopefully the sun will return soon, it would be nice to have some summer weather here in the Northwest!! :)

Blessings!

Raeann, love lighthouses! And that is such a pretty one. I may have to borrow your husband so he can make me one of those swings too! :)

Dear Lady Farmer,

What a lovely outing! I love the picnic table and swing; so creative! I hope that your summer is getting off to a good start, and that things warm up a bit for everyone there.

Love,

Marqueta
