Maple Leaf Roses

Almost too late, I remembered a tutorial that

my dear friend Sharon shared last year on her blog.

(Sharon is no longer blogging. :~{ )

The leaves on our trees have all fallen off,

and though once beautiful shades of yellow,

orange, rust and lime, they have all mellowed

to a wearied gold.

I quickly put these together and added the

last of the brilliantly colored dogwood leaves

for that splash of Autumn color.

Perhaps you still have a few brightly colored leaves

and can yet try your hand at this delightful

nature craft.

Please let me know if you do ~ I would love to see how yours turned out!

  3. This is just lovely! I am sure that the leaves must be a bit pliable and not so dry in order to turn them and make them into flowers.

    Just beautiful.

  7. Very clever, I think it's too late for us to gather leaves this year.
Will have to file this idea away for next year. . .
    Have a great day!

  12. These are so beautiful. I would really love to make one if I can just find some leaves. Maples are some of the first trees to drop their leaves here. I am going to look today!

  13. Amazing! I wish our leaves turned fall colors here in the sunny south - but they go straight from green to dead! :) Maybe some spray paint is in order...

  14. Beautiful, I've never seen this done before. I will have to give it a try, but not sure my leaves are large enough. They've just started turning a beautiful reddish maroon.

  15. Thank you for sharing the link to this tutorial! We don't have maples here in Alabama (except for the Japanese variety), but we do have a lot of sweet gums! I can't wait to try this with the deep maroon sweet gum leaves...
