We had lots of snow (10 inches), then a misty rain which froze on top.
The melting snow and ice glisten and are
a sight to behold...
but so heavy and brutal on the trees and plants.
We have lost another apple tree from the
extreme weight of the ice and several branches
from other trees have snapped off.

has passed through our little hamlet.
(Moments after snapping this photo, the branch above it
shattered and came crashing down.)
I had just stepped away to check out my little
Hens Haus.
The wall outside was painted with a
solid sheet of ice.

I had a dickens of a time getting in to feed and
water my flock, who by the way, are not
at all happy to have to stay inside for
several days.
My poor little car covered in snow and ice.
The birds are extra greedy, gobbling up nearly twenty
pounds of feed in two days!
I think I will stay inside and crochet me a pair of
toasty fingerless gloves.

You sure you don't live in Alaska? Your pictures look like our home when we lived in Anchorage. LOL Definitely time to cozy down into the house. Hope you and your animals stay warm.
I enjoyed your snow photographs. Since we don't get snow and ice where I live, I was quite fascinated by your photos. I thought that they were quite beautiful, except for the one where your car was covered with ice. That wasn't so nice. :)

Your photos are beautiful! I love how ice and snow make everything look so clean, sparkly and pure. I am sorry to hear of losing your apple tree :( We finally got some snow today and it is sticking (snow from last week melted).

My, what a lot of snow and ice! It does look magical, though, doesn't it? I do feel sorry for the poor trees, though, and all the critters stuck out in the cold. I know how chickens detest snow, so I hope yours can run around outside soon.
I hope you're having a wonderful day, knitting away! We could use fingerless gloves while sorting clothes at the thrift store where we volunteer. I'll have to get out those needles that are hiding somewhere and get knitting, myself!
